
ASPC Minutes: 8/14/2010 Meeting called to order: 7:45pm by President Tim Weigle Sec Report: The minutes were read and accepted. Treasurers Report: Jimmy Gave the report, starting to get the hang of it. Pop & Beer Report: Ben Kellogg didn’t have a report yet, so Barb said that “We spent, we bought, you drank, and we made”
Old Business: 1. BBQ: Tim Weigle said that the invitations went out and we are expecting 60-65 people. Kay said the menu was set with chicken, pulled pork, and roast beef, we have to provide paper products. We have a (last minute) DJ it will cost $300 for 3 hours. Nancy volunteered a cake. The tables and chairs were ordered. We need ice that day. There will be no fun meet but lots of RW is expected. We need firewood; Bill Phillips and Dave Norris said they could bring wood. 2. Molly Howsare asked about the water training. Since Carl Lipp would be at church Sunday we need to reschedule. Rick said that maybe we could use the public pool in East Palestine. Tim will look into it. Molly, Peter, Chris Egrist and Ron Sarazen need it. 3. Training camp: Jimmy said it went good. There were 7-800 jumps made. Cheryl made 94 jumps and Hal made 90. Rick thanked all the club members for filling the loads and helping entertain. 4. Henry brought up the lights. We have 5 up but we need more. Jimmy motioned to buy 6 lights not to exceed $400. Seconded Henry, passed. Rick noted that Dave Norris “donated” the first 5 lights and we need to repay him. Dave graciously declined. He said that Annette flashed the cashier and he walked out the door. 5. Jim, Jimmy, Marius and Cheryl are going to the World Meet at the end of August. They were themed. “Ass, ass, kiss our ass. Norris pants’ed Jimmy to the buff at Sal’s in the bar in celebration. 6. Eugene was sent a certified letter; we will wait to see what happens. (Where the hell is Eugene?)
New Business: 1. Jimmy commented on the Buffalo Hollow demo tonight, which usually cancels this meeting. It was pouring down rain. The ground crew could barely see the plane or the jumpers, in fact had a hard time looking up. Molly’s wind indicator went limp and she ended up with yellow hands. Reserves needed repacked and stuff was dripping all over the clubhouse. 2. Robb Schere thanked everyone for the card after his brothers passing. He also thanked the club and Dave Norris for the flowers. It was greatly appreciated. 3. Tim Weigle noted that Brooks Crane dropped out of the club. He moved to Washington State. 4. Rick Kuhns wanted to thank everyone who helped on tandems the past two months, and the video guy too. 5. Milestones: Henry Landgraff got his first four-stack, Ben Kellogg made his grand, Henry got his Pro-rating, Ben became JB #2. 6. Thanks were also extended to Annette, Kay and Jimmy’s dad for bringing food this month.
New Members:Edin Alisia Edin is from Michigan 48042. Has 2052 jumps, 138 here. He has a C license. He is originally from Bosnia and jumped in the late 80’s. He won bronze at the world meet back then. He laid off for 10 –15 years and is making a comeback. His wife used to jump also. He is an accuracy jumper and like the atmosphere here, but not always the winds. Voted in.
